“This place is AMAZING! We’ve been there a few times and the kids just want to go back there over and over. They can’t wait to walk the goats again! It’s very relaxing for adults and variety of fun for kids. They have animal feed, sand pit, tennis court, different bikes and trikes, used to have trampolines too when my kids were smaller, orchard and so much more. Everyone that we told and visited they went back twice . It’s truly a great experience.”

“We love coming back to Freshwater Creek Cottages. Our kids love exploring the farm, feeding the animals and collecting the eggs. It gives them the chance to gain some independence and confidence and we get a chance to relax a little. It's also great when travelling with friends as we can spend time together but all have our own cottage to retreat to when it all gets to much.”

“We absolutely loved our 3 night stay! The kids asked to go back, so we’ve rebooked and are bringing 4 other school families with us! Our kids aged 9, 7, 5 and 1 all loved the experience of feeding the animals, collecting fresh eggs each day, riding their bikes around the farm, going on the farm tractor tour and picking fresh fruit. We met other families staying in the cottages and the kids loved making new friends. We were lucky to be there when a pig had piglets which was a special experience. Our cottage was fully equipped and beds really comfortable. We loved spending time in nature with the kids. Highly recommend this as a farm stay experience!”

“We have been taking our 4 children to freshwater creek cottages since our youngest was just a baby, now 7… this latest time we also took my parents. This place is magical and reminds me of the innocence of childhood, the thrill of bike rides, the wonder of exploring and healthy, wholesome time together. As business owners who lead a frantic life with 4 children, this is the only place in the world where I truly am able to switch off and reset and our oldest teenagers don't even look at their phones. Between beach trips and relaxing this is the perfect mix of activities and rest.”

“We stayed at Freshwater Creek Cottages because of our animal-loving, 8 year old daughter. She loved every minute with the animals; and Marissa just as much! Our sons were not as keen before we arrived and our 13 year old son spent the first hour of our stay on his iPad. When he decided to put his electronic device down and venture out to see what the rest of us were doing - that was the end of his ipad! In his words, "This farm stay is a lot better than l thought it would be. It's actually fun and l don't even want to be on my ipad." We've seen him feed animals, ride bikes around the property and even wanting to help Phil and Marissa with sorting food scraps at the end of the day. Marissa and Phill are so welcoming, selfless, giving, passionate and devoted about their work. Our three kids want to know when we will back and our daughter wants to spend every school holiday break helping Marissa and Phill on the farm! We could not recommend Freshwater Creek Cottages enough. The perfect escape for families, especially city kids who become so addicted to their devices and forget what it's like to be outdoors amongst nature!”

“It’s an amazing place for a relaxing holiday with kids. Plenty of things to do and see for kids. There are always animals to feed, eggs to collect, fruits to pick, bikes to ride, and so much more. We are repeat customers and will continue to be so for many more years to come. The owners Phil and Marissa as well as Richard and Melissa are wonderful. I am too scared to recommend to many people as it’s always full and am scared I might not get the dates I want. But think every family with little ones should give it a go at least once (good luck with once though)
Can’t wait to go back again. Feels like second home.”

“Marissa and Phill were amazing hosts and really took the time to look after their guests. We stayed at the Lodge - it was large and clean with everything provided - including a nice warm fire all set up for us even before we arrived. All the animals looked happy and well-cared for. Our kids had an amazing time roaming the grounds, cycling and feeding the animals. Staying at the farm was definitely the highlight of our trip to Melbourne!”

“We had a quick stay at the cottages recently and only wished we had stayed longer. What a beautiful property. The cottages are so cute and fully equipped so you feel right at home. The cows roam in the paddock in front, we could have watched them all day. The fire was just delightful, a real Wintery getaway. We were made to feel very welcome with our last minute booking too. We have already started recommending Freshwater Creek Cottages to our friends as the perfect place to getaway from day to day life and to just unwind with family and friends”

“About to have our 3rd stay here, each in a different season. I love how quickly my 3 kids settle into exploring and playing outside. Close to family who love to visit & enjoy a coffee in “our cottage” (we live in the NT). The self contained cottage quickly becomes home & kitchen and BBQ’s make meals much more relaxed than finding a restaurant everyone can enjoy.”

“Stayed here for 12 days early in the new year in Rose Cottage. Last time we were in Lavender and it was winter so we had been looking forward to a stay in Summer. The cottage was impeccable and there was so much for the kids to do. We made good use of the BBQ and outside chairs. Great place for children and Marissa and Phill are incredible hosts.”

“Freshwater Creek Cottages is a comfortable farm stay, great for family bonding. There is feeding the animals, collecting eggs, Cycling for kids and a great playground. Marissa & Phill are warm and welcoming. It’s best to rent a car to get there if you are from overseas.
